There are rumors that Rihanna will show up at the 2023 Met Gala.
According to Page Six, the "Work" singer went to a late-night-early-morning secret fitting for her Met Gala look.
The publication's source revealed that Rihanna was up and about at 3 a.m. last Saturday for the fitting, which reportedly involved Cartier jewels that is worth about $25 million.
The news of Rihanna's possible appearance comes a day after she was seen sporting an all-fur outfit from Chanel days before the Met Gala was set to commence.
What's Missing?
Fans have been impatiently waiting for the "Diamonds" singer to appear on the steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art for several days-or years now.
That's probably because she has not returned to the gala for several years now, as she is focusing on other endeavors and kept mostly out of the public's eye.
However, out of the blue, she shared a picture of herself wearing a black and white all-fur ensemble by Chanel and captioned it, "Not even Monday," referencing the Met Gala, which happens on the first Monday of May.
Met Darling
Aside from being a fan favorite, Rihanna is always highly anticipated by everyone else at the Met Gala, especially Anna Wintour.
During an interview, Wintour admitted that Rihanna is somewhat of a wildcard every time the Met rolls around every year, mostly because she never knows whether the singer will show up or not.
Fans also have no clue if the singer will be making an appearance this year, however, they are most definitely hopeful.
After all, this year's theme is "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty" and no one knows beauty and Lagerfeld more than Rihanna.
According to Teen Vogue, even before the Met Gala season rolled in, Rihanna constantly wears fits approved by Lagerfeld, whether it be a Chanel piece or a Fendi piece.
Perhaps the not-so-subtle homage she paid to the late designer over the weekend was a coincidence, but it also happens that Rihanna is in New York City-the very place where The Met is situated.
So maybe the idea of the fashion icon attending the most anticipated fashion event of the year is not too far off.
