Dead Kennedys drummer D.H. Peligro's cause of death has been determined months after his passing.
Dead Kennedys shared a statement on Twitter last year, confirming that the drummer died after sustaining trauma to his head following an accidental fall in his Los Angeles home on Oct. 28. Police responded to the area after receiving a call regarding the accident, but the musician passed away moments later.
Dead Kennedys Drummer D.H. Peligro's Real Cause of Death Revealed
A news outlet recently confirmed that Peligro died following a drug overdose.
The official autopsy report obtained by the news outlet revealed that he died due to the "combined effects of fentanyl and heroin." It detected that the drummer also had non-small lung cancer; however, the medical examiner ruled that the combination of drugs is what ultimately killed him.
It also disclosed Peligro's drug and alcohol abuse history.
The documents added that the musician did not have any traumatic injuries, including a head wound, at the time of his death. This ultimately contradicted his bandmates' initial statement regarding the head trauma he sustained after the reported accidental fall.
Meanwhile, D.H. Peligro's cause of death shed light on how he lost consciousness before his landlord discovered him in a bathroom, where he was later pronounced dead.

Following the confirmation of his death, his friends, colleagues, and fans expressed their heartbreaks as they dealt with the massive loss.
Red Hot Chili Peppers' Flea shared a statement on Instagram in which he said he misses his "friend and brother" and that he felt devastated by the recent event. He previously worked with Peligro when the late drummer played for the band in 1988.
Remembering D.H. Peligro
Peligro's music journey with Dead Kennedys started in 1981 when he appeared in the band's EP, "In God We Trust, Inc." Before their initial disbandment, the drummer was able to record several studio albums including "Bedtime for Democracy" and "Plastic Surgery Disasters."
He also lent his drum skills in the 1987's compilation album, "Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death."
Peligro joined Red Hot Chili Peppers briefly after Dead Kennedys' breakup. However, his drug addiction issues led to his firing.
Years later, Dead Kennedys regrouped without Jello Biafra and started holding shows across the world. Peligro, in fact, played with the band in a concert in Spain days before his death.
