Taylor Swift just performed a track that made her tear up, but she became more emotional after she saw fans near the stage holding photos of her late grandmother. However, not all Swifties agree with this big move; what happened?

According to Billboard, the pop star recently played at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee for her "The Eras Tour," where it was attended by 70,000 people.

During one moment, fans can be seen holding up photos of her late grandmother, Marjorie, who inspired the song of the same name from the album "Evermore."

Upon seeing the printed portraits, Swift immediately became emotional as she started tearing up in front of concertgoers.

Later in the set, the pop singer explained that the song was about her mom's mom who was a singer. She passed away when Swift was only 13 years old.

"I just know that my mom, right now, is just like bawling and has been for the solid last five-and-a-half minutes, and I love you guys so much," she told fans.

The reason why fans had a lot of pictures of her grandmother was because of a fan who passed out over 300 copies of the photos which she called "Project Marjorie."

Swifties Disagree With Fans Who Brought Pictures of Marjorie

Despite the sweet gesture from concertgoers, not all Swifties were happy about "Project Marjorie" as they deem it an insensitive move because it could potentially trigger the pop star.

"guys this is too far... i get the idea behind it but trying to evoke that sort of emotion from her on purpose with such a sensitive and personal topic just seems wrong," one wrote.

"this isn't sweet. if a stranger holds up a picture of my dead nan while I'm singing I'm breaking down and not coming up on stage for the rest of the night. why would you hurt someone like that? for what? it's also creepy like no," another one wrote.

Other fans seem to be okay with the idea as one user defended the move, saying Taylor Swift seemed "touch," adding, "Just because you think it was uncomfortable doesn't mean she does . It looked like she thought it was sweet."

Taylor Swift Nashville Concert Was a Night Full of Surprises

In other updates, Taylor Swift's Nashville concert was a night full of surprises, because aside from her emotional performance, she also announced a new album coming this year.

While performing on stage, the pop star finally revealed the official release date of her album "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)," which will be available for streaming on July 7, 2023.

In addition, her rumored boyfriend, The 1975 frontman Matty Healy, was also present at the show where he performed alongside Phoebe Bridgers.
