Paul Cauthen failed to meet his fans in his scheduled shows after he was arrested on drug charges.
The country singer was supposed to perform at The Concourse in Knoxville, Tennessee, and at the Tennessee Motorcycles & Music Revival at Loretta Lynn's Hurricane Mills Ranch on Friday and Saturday, respectively. However, his recent arrest led him to cancel his appearances.
Paul Cauthen Arrested on Drug Charges
Cauthen was arrested on drug charges Thursday morning after the singer reportedly possessed, manufactured, and distributed drugs. The arrest happened in Isle of Palms, South Carolina.
He took to Instagram to inform his supposed concertgoers of the development, citing "extenuating circumstances."
"Sorry folks. Some things have happened and we won't be making these shows unfortunately," he said. "We will go into further detail in time. God bless all of you. Be kind to one another."
Cauthen also canceled his May 18 show at Suck Bang Blow in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. However, Saving Country Music said the venue claimed weather was a factor in the cancelation.
The news outlet also disclosed that Cauthen's bond were set at $27,250 for the possession charge and $25,000 for the manufacturing and distribution charge. The singer still opted not to perform, although he posted the bail nine hours after he was booked.
It remains unknown whether he will reschedule the canceled dates instead.

On the other hand, Rolling Stone quoted jail records from the Charleston County's Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center showing that Cauthen was charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and manufacturing and possession of controlled substances with the intent to distribute in Schedule I, II, and III.
Cauthen nor his representative declined to comment as of press time. Meanwhile, his manager told Saving Country Music confirmed that his arrest was due to his marijuana possession, adding that the singer plans to share his story soon.
Paul Cauthen Released New Music Before Arrest
The country musician dropped his new song "Hometeam" a week before the arrest, marking his first song since "Country Coming Down" was released. It also became his first music project since signing with his current management company, Q Prime.
Aside from working on his own music, he also collaborated with Diplo on his album, "Thomas Wesley: Chapter 2 - Swamp Savant," for the track "Rain on My Mind."
