Patrick Xavier Clark, the alleged shooter of rapper Takeoff, was reported to have been indicted by a Texas grand jury on murder charges.

One-third of the Atlanta rap trio Migos, Takeoff was tragically gunned down in Houston, Texas, on Nov. 1, 2023.

According to KHOU, Patrick Xavier Clark, the person accused of the shooting was indicted by a grand jury in Harris County, Texas.

Based on a report from the county's coroner's officer, Takeoff passed away because of a "penetrating gunshot" to his head, torso, and his arm.

However, Clark's attorney Carl Moore seemed to have anticipated the upcoming indictment, saying that the decision was "not unexpected." He also reiterated that getting an indictment was fairly easy and they would be proving that his client was innocent.

"We would ask people to remember that getting an indictment requires meeting a very, very minimal standard of proof," Moore said in a statement. "When we get inside a courtroom and in front of a jury, where we will be able to put on our evidence and cross-examine the state's witnesses - where the standard of proof is guilt beyond reasonable doubt - we expect the jury will come back with a verdict of not guilty."

Notably, Clark posted a $1 million bond on January 2023. Initially, Clark's camp haggled for a lower cost. The bond release was supposed to be $2 million and is now a million lower. They also appealed for a $300,000 reduction but were eventually denied.

How Was Takeoff Killed?

At the time, it was only known that a heated altercation turned bloody when Takeoff and Quavo were in a Houston bowling alley. In an interview with Comedian Shawty Shawty at the "Ugly Shawty Podcast,"

"I have to say 'alleged' because I was told this over the phone from a reliable source," Shawty said. "They say Quavo dominates in a lot of different things - basketball, all of this. So they say that they had been shooting basketball earlier, and then they got to the bowling alley, and they said it was a dice game."

Surveillance footage shows Clark holding a wine bottle and a gun in the other hand. On the crime scene, fingerprints of Clark were seen.

After being released via bond, Clark underwent a round-the-clock house arrest and a GPS monitor. Random drug testing and refraining from drinking alcohol have also been ordered.
