Nicki Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, has been reported to go to trial after the mediation efforts between him and accuser Jennifer Hough weren't fruitful. Attempts to settle the trial via mediation have failed which would result in the case going to trial.

Petty was a convicted sex offender. According to Hough's lawsuit, Petty and Minaj allegedly harassed her into recanting her statements so he could be free from the National Sex Offender Registry.

Kenneth Petty Harrassment Trial

According to an exclusive report from AllHipHop, Kenneth Petty will reportedly go to trial for his case against Jennifer Hough after mediation efforts and attempts to settle the case failed.

Apparently, Petty missed the sessions, citing health concerns as the reason for his absence. However, when he attended afterward, the mediation did not progress.

"We participated in private mediation, but unfortunately, we were unable to reach a settlement," Jennifer Hough's lawyer, Tyrone Blackburn said in a statement.

The outlet reports that the case may now be heading to trial as it has been marked with significant contention. As of this writing, there is no definite answer yet, but given the mark, it would most likely be.

What Was Kenneth Petty, Nicki Minaj Accused Of?

According to Hough's complaint, the couple allegedly bribed her with $500,000 to drop the case.

She also alleged that the couple's team did the following - harass her daughter, hired private investigators to intimidate and track them down, and even force her to move state to state in fear for her life.

Nicki Minaj Was Dropped From The Original Lawsuit

Initially, the Queen of Rap was named in the lawsuit. However, Hough dropped her from the suit in January 2022.

"The case against Nicki was voluntarily dismissed. The case against Kenneth Petty is still ongoing," Hough's lawyer said in a statement at the time.

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj countersued Hough for damages made by the "wild accusations" that Hough's lawyer, Blackburn, made while presenting a case to the judge.

However, the judge denied the motion to sanction saying it lacked merit but reminded Blackburn of professionalism.

"The court does not find [Hough's] decision to pursue a motion for default judgment against [Nicki] sanctionable, notwithstanding [Nicki's] claim that the motion lacked merit," the document read.
