All eyes are on Olivia Rodrigo as she gears up to release her highly anticipated sophomore album.
The "Drivers License" singer took over the world by storm with the release of her chart-topping debut studio album "Sour" in 2021, but now is time for a new era.
According to Billboard, Rodrigo has been quietly dropping hints about when fans should expect her next release.
In one of her teasers, the singer hinted that something is slated for June 30, but what exactly?
The teaser was spotted by some eagle-eyed fans who noticed that on the driver's license mock-up that is shown every time someone listens to her breakout single, the expiry date reads the said date.
Mystery Clock
On top of the cryptic hint, Rodrigo also released a countdown on her official website.
The "Good 4 U" singer has not officially released any details regarding her next album, but it has been in the works for several months-even years-now.
"Hey, it's Olivia, I just wanted to say thank you so much for listening to my music this year; I really, truly couldn't be more grateful," Rodrigo said in a short video clip for Spotify.
"I'm so excited for next year and all of the new things and new music that 2023 will bring, so I'm sending so much love your way, and thank you again - bye!"
Coming Soon
The "Deja Vu" singer does not really talk much about her next move, perhaps its one of her strategies to keep fans on the edge of their seats, in anticipation of the next album.
However, there are still some instances wherein she hints that she is indeed working on new material, and it is almost ready for release.
On the second anniversary of "Sour," the singer wrote on Instagram: "Oh man oh man oh man. SOUR turns 2 years old today. no words could ever describe how much this album means to me and how insanely grateful I feel for every blessing it has brought into my life. the new stuff is so so so so so close to being done I pinky promise."
Whatever Rodrigo has up her sleeve, the next album will definitely be compared to its predecessor, and that will be a difficult feat. After all, "Sour" earned three Grammy Awards following its release.
