The Fugees is perhaps one of the most important hip-hop groups in music history as it helped catapult the career of Lauryn Hill. As Hill now celebrates the 25 years of her iconic album, "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill," she was joined by her former bandmates in a final performance to remember.
The iconic trio reunited at the Roots Music Fest on Jun. 3, 2023, for their final performance.

Questlove, the Roots frontman and the festival organizer was in disbelief at how the entire performance unfolded. Notably, the band canceled their highly-anticipated reunion tour in January 2022.
In a tearful Instagram post, Questlove recalled his roots on how his life was intertwined with the hip-hop group. According to him, in 1993, the unpopular Fugees opened up the Trocadero in Philadelphia, the band's first gig after signing with a major label, which was Geffen Records.
"Their #BluntedOnReality got released in early 93. We got our deal in Dec 93 & man..... Now 30 years later & look at us now. What a journey," he recalled.
As he continued his post, Questlove thanked Hill for letting them celebrate her classic album and bringing together her group on possibly one of the last times they would ever perform for a long time.
This is because one of the member, Pras Michel, was due to be sentenced for the crimes he had been convicted of.
Pras Michel Awaiting Sentencing For International Fraud Case
According to Entertainment Tonight, Pras was found guilty of all ten counts of what the court described as a "clandestine foreign influence campaign scheme."
The high-profile trial dates back to former President Barack Obama's presidential campaign until attempts during the Trump Administration to extradite a Chinese national. Reports say that Pras could face 20 years in prison. However, the sentence has not yet been announced as of this writing.
By the time the maximum sentence would have been fulfilled, Hill would be around 70 years old, Wyclef would be around the early 70s, and so would Pras.
