A few days ago, fans were shocked after Volbeat announced that their guitarist, Rob Caggiano, would be leaving the band despite them going on tour. The musician remained silent amid his exit as the group was the one who released a statement regarding the big move.
More recently, the guitarist finally broke his silence and gave fans an insight as to why he decided to depart from the band; what happened?
Taking to his official Instagram account, the musician first apologized to his supporters as his statement was late and "a bit overdue" and the reason why he's speaking out now is that he finally processed everything.
With that being said, Caggiano wanted to share something to the public.
He started off by expressing his gratitude to those who have sent him well-wishes, support, and amazing messages over the past few days. The guitarist noted that reading those messages reassured him that he's making the right decision.
He also wanted to thank the friends he met through the years while he was still a part of Volbeat.
Rob Caggiano Hints on Reason Why He Left Volbeat
The musician later thanked his former bandmates Michael Poulsen, Jon Larsen, Kaspar Boye Larsen, and Anders Kjølhlm as he was extremely proud of what they accomplished in the past decade.
Although Caggiano did not explicitly shared the reason why he's leaving the group, he hinted in his statement that the possible reason would be having different priorities in life.
"Sometimes relationships simply run their course. Sometimes certain obstacles, people or circumstances get in the way of the greater good. Sometimes people change and priorities shift. Sometimes it's unavoidable," he added. (via Loudwire)
He considers this a "very emotional time" but he added that he's also excited about the future of his career because there are "lots of exciting things happening right now."
It appears that fans have to wait for something music-related from the guitarist as he told his followers to "stay tuned."
Volbeat New Guitarist
After Volbeat announced that Rob Caggiano would leave the band, they finally announced that Flemming C. Lund of The Arcane Order would be touring with them for their ongoing series of shows.
It was not confirmed if Lund would be a permanent member as he was referred to as the "lead guitar on our 2023 shows."
Volbeat just kicked off their shows in Hyvinkaa at Rockfest a few days ago and would travel to different cities across North America. More information about their ongoing tour is available on their official website.
