5 Seconds of Summer, or 5SOS, just released "The Feeling of Falling Upwards," their third live album, in April 2023; but aside from the music drops, what else is new?
The Australian pop-rock band is yet to embark on their "The 5 Seconds of Summer Show" this year, and it seems like things will mellow out for a while, especially following the news of one of the members expanding his family.
According to reports, lead guitarist Michael Clifford is expecting a baby with his wife Crystal Leigh, which might slow things down in the music-making and touring department of the band.
"I'm filled with excitement and also with nerves," Clifford said. "I've been a dog dad for a long time, so I think I'm ready for a small human to take care of and communicate with conversationally after eight years of one-sided dog convos!"
Michael Clifford's Relationship
The news of a baby comes two years after the couple secretly tied the knot back in 2021.
On several occasions, Clifford has expressed his happiness with his relationship. The musician even shared a heartfelt Instagram post dedicated to his wife: "In the last three years she has helped evolve and shape who I am in ways I could never have imagined. I couldn't ask for anyone better to spend the rest of my life with. I love loving you, Crystal."
Leigh commented on how great Clifford is doing, supporting her along the way during her pregnancy: "Michael has been such an incredible partner through it all though, I really do feel like we are pregnant together."
Luke Hemmings, Ashton Irwin, and Calum Hood
Unlike Clifford who is busy building a family, the rest of 5SOS are in no hurry. They are definitely doing their own thing.
The latest update about the band's lead singer, Luke Hemmings was when he announced his Fonda Theatre show, slated for Jun 8.
The singer is working on solo music, which fans might see more of in the coming months. With the releases of "Starting Line" and "Motion," fans are eagerly anticipating his debut solo album, which is expected to drop sometime this year.
On the other hand, the band's bassist Calum Hood is ushering in a new chapter in his life by purchasing a glamorous home in Los Angeles.
According to reports, Hood bought the "zen-inducing" home from rocker Richie Kotzen for $2 million.
Meanwhile, there is not a lot of news about Ashton Iriwin, the band's drummer. Perhaps the musician is laying low and enjoying the respite before 5SOS heads back to the studio to work on new material.
