KCON-the biggest KPOP music festival in the United States-is heading back to the Los Angeles Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena for three days.
According to reports, KCON 2023 just announced its star-studded lineup of KPOP idols which spans several generations in South Korea's music industry.
Ateez, Stray Kids, ITZY, Taemin, Taeyong, WayV, Everglow, (G)-Idle, INI, Kep1er, Lapillus, NMIXX, xikers, Zerobaseone, Rain, Cravity, and Monsta X's Shownu and Hyungwon will all be coming to make summer a little hotter on Aug 18 to 20.
The KPOP stars included in this year's lineup are by no means novices in the music scene, but for some of them, this will be their first time coming to the US and performing for their American fanbase.
KCON LA 2023: Where to Get Tickets?
As of this writing, KCON USA is yet to announce any dates for the pre-sale or general sale for the music festival. There are also no updates regarding the prices of the tickets.
However, it is noted on their website that fans will get to enjoy not only the stunning performances by this year's headliners and lineup but other perks as well, like hi-touch with the KPOP idols, and immersing in South Korea's beauty and food culture.
KCON 2023 Controversy
According to South Korean news outlet Koreaboo, fans were furious with one of the KPOP stars included in this year's KCON lineup: Rain.
Apparently, it had something to do with the soloist's entertainment agency called Rain Company.
In 2021, the singer/entertainment mogul founded the boy group Ciipher, which fans took a quick liking to. Shortly after their debut, the boy group went into a hiatus in favor of some of the member's solo endeavors.
Ciipher's Tag, Keita, and Hyunbin all took part in survival show competitions in South Korea, which eventually finished sometime last year.
Fans became hopeful that the end of their solo projects would mean Ciipher would return as a group, however, this has not been the case.
Following the announcement of Rain participating and performing in KCON 2023, fans urged the singer to let Cippher make music again.
"PLEASE RAIN HEAR CLUE OUT!! PLEASE DO SOMETHING FOR CIIPHER. WE WILL NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT CIIPHER PLEASE," a fan pleaded on Twitter.
The hashtag #CiipherDeservesBetter and #RainCompanyHearUs went trending for a short while in KPOP trends.
"We won't stop until you give Ciipher what they deserve," another wrote.
