Grammy-nominated singer Halsey has finally entered a new deal with Columbia Records, after leaving Capitol Records months ago.

The move came on the heels of a very public dispute between Halsey and the label. In 2022, one of Halsey's songs, "So Good," was refused by the label to be released commercially because it did not have a TikTok campaign backing it up.

Halsey's New Label Columbia Records

Variety exclusively confirmed that Halsey has now entered a new deal with Columbia Records. This is the same label that houses Adele, Baby Keem, Blink-182, Beyonce, Halle x Chloe, Harry Styles, Hozier, Jack White, HAIM, Miley Cyrus, Rosalia, and even Celine Dion.

This was a good move for Halsey as this was also the same label that catapulted her into popularity-responsible for the commercial success of her song "Closer" in 2016 and "Without Me" in 2018.

"Closer" topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 2016 for 12 weeks and has since been certified 15x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

As of this writing, neither Columbia nor Halsey has released a statement on the new venture.

Halsey Left Capitol Records

In April 2023, Halsey left Capitol Records after eight years with the music label.

"After eight great years the decision to leave Capitol is bittersweet, but we are excited about exploring a new partnership and sharing new music with fans," a representative from Halsey said in a statement to Billboard.

Capitol further pointed out that they "poured" their hearts and souls to help the singer achieve her dreams and let her music be heard around the world.

"We are incredibly proud of all we accomplished together, and wish Halsey the very best in all their future endeavors," they continued to say.

However, the exit seemed to be motivated by the public disagreement that Halsey and Capitol had in 2022.

Back then, Halsey wanted to release the song "So Good," but the label didn't want to because there was no TikTok campaign to back it up. As Halsey took to the social media platform to voice out her concern, she was backed by her fans and other people in hounding the label to release it, which they successfully did.

"So Good" was released as a non-album single.
