Normani is finally going to release a new song, and she also hinted that her debut studio album is coming soon-here's everything to know about the Fifth Harmony alum's upcoming music.
The singer is releasing a single called "Candy Paint" which she previewed in her partnership ad with Bose.
"In terms of my career and my music, I know the wait has been extensive but it's definitely going to be worth it," Normani said.
It has been five years since Fifth Harmony broke up and went their separate ways, and yet the singer has only released several singles since then, including her hit song "Motivation."
"I really wanted to create a record that allowed me to show my personality. I feel like there's a misconception," she continued.
She admits that it might just be because of her social media persona, but Normani adds that she is actually not that serious, in fact, she described herself as a "goofball."
"It's a performance record first, which I know my fans have been waiting for, for a very long time. It's fun, energetic, bossy. It's bold. It's sassy but assertive, and yeah, I'm really excited to shoot the music video."
Normani's Debut Solo Album
According to reports, whispers about Normani's debut album have been around for years.
In fact, there have been pictures of her "finishing" the album back in 2020, and she teased it in 2021.
Although she has not disclosed much about it, it seems like Normani has already finished her album years back.
However, the major reason why the "Dancing With a Stranger" singer is actually yet to drop it is because of personal problems.
"Finishing my album really helped her get through it, and really helped me get through it," Normani said, referring to her mother who was diagnosed with breast cancer.
"Honestly, I could put out trash and my mom and dad would literally be like, 'This is a hit, this is a smash, how dare they not love it the way we love it.'"

Normani Holds Back
On top of her mother's cancer diagnosis, Normani was dealt with another blow when her father was also diagnosed with the same illness.
Although she did not explicitly imply that her father's illness caused her to step back from making music and focusing on her parents' care, it did help her put things into perspective.
Normani admitted that she is afraid, "I can wholeheartedly say that through a lot of my career I know that I've been afraid. And that's a vulnerable moment for me to even be honest with you and express, but yeah, just leaning into it and doing it anyway and knowing that God has a plan and it's all going to work for my good."
