Stevie Wonder might lose over 200 songs if he will not release it as soon as possible.
Reports about Wonder's unfinished songs emerged over the past years as fans hope to hear them soon. Wonder recorded the still-under-production tracks as part of his 1976 double album, "Songs in the Key of Life," in 1976, but he might not be able to release them if those will remain idle.
Why Stevie Wonder Needs To Release His 200 Unused Songs
In 2016, Wonder told Rolling Stone that he keeps writing songs until he peaks whenever his "flow is going." Engineer John Fischbach confirmed his statement and said the singer truly did more songs for two years, calling it Wonder's most prolific time.
Over four decades after the 1976 double album's arrival, Boing Boing recently posted on its website expressing its concern that the singer's songs might no longer have the protection for those tracks due to the European Union's law, "Use It or Lose It."
It refers to the 50-year copyright protection, which can be extended by 20 years automatically if a material is up for sale during the first five-decade period.

The website set Bob Dylan as an example, who released a CD box set of his unreleased recordings through the "50th Anniversary Collection." Other albums that secured the copyright include "Motown: Unreleased 1963," "The Beatles Bootleg Recordings in 1963," and Beach Boys "The Big Beat 1963" after they were put on digital music stores for sale.
"EU copyright protection for the songs Wonder recorded during the 1974-76 Songs in the Key of Life sessions is about to begin expiring," the website said. "Is it possible Wonder will want to extend that protection for 20 years by giving the world the incredible gift of these songs?"
Is Stevie Wonder Still Alive?
Although Wonder remains active and healthy despite his health issues, the singer became the subject of death hoaxes over the past years.
He sparked concerns in 2019 during his concert in London's Hyde Park as he told the concertgoers that he would undergo a kidney transplant the same year. At that time, speculative reports also dwindled and suggested that he was on his deathbed due to kidney failure.
Despite the rumors, Wonder dismissed the claims by showing how he remains in great spirits over the past years.
