Cindy Birdsong's family has requested conservatorship due to her deteriorating health.
A filing in a Los Angeles court asked that Cindy's brother, Ronald Birdsong, and entertainment manager, Brad Herman, oversee her affairs instead of her current conservator Rochelle Lander. This update was reported by New York Times.
According to the news source, Ronald asserts that with Rochelle's power of attorney over Cindy for over ten years, she has been secluding her from family and friends to control her health and wealth.
Living together for many years, Ronald further alleges Rochelle has kept them uninformed about Cindy's deteriorating condition.
Following Cindy Birdsong's second stroke about seven years ago, her family claims Rochelle shrouded her health in secrecy.
Even more concerningly, they allege that he would not inform them where she received medical attention.
The whereabouts of Cindy was unknown to her family, said Melody Birdsong.
According to family members, several attempts had been made to visit her, but Rochelle blocked their efforts.
When Terri Birdsong was finally able to visit her sister Cindy, the despair she felt only intensified; instead of being the same as the last time she had seen her, Cindy now relied on a feeding tube for sustenance.
Speaking to the outlet, Terri recounted how this realization affected her. "My heart sank when I saw it," she said.
Due to Cindy's "deteriorating condition," the family sought help from the police in 2021.

As a result, she was removed from her home and sent to a skilled nursing facility for assistance.
In contrast to the reports from other family members, Rochelle alleged that Cindy experienced a "complete mental break."
She said she felt it was his duty to intervene because no one else would help her.
Nevertheless, those close to her maintain that Cindy is disabled and cannot get out of bed or express herself.
Additionally, documents from the nursing facility say she requires a feeding tube.
Desperate to protect Cindy and ensure her well-being, her loved ones took the drastic step of filing a conservatorship petition against Rochelle.
Seeking to limit her influence over the Supremessinger's life and finances, which have been depleted, the court has made plans for a hearing in August.
After spending nine years as part of the musical sensation that was The Supremes, in 1967, Cindy decided to step back from the limelight. Since then, she has managed to stay largely out of public view.
