Formed in 1992, Stone Sour became one of the most loved rock bands in America, which is why many have been hounding them for a reunion project.
However, Corey Taylor, Slipknot's current vocalist and Stone Sour's former, finally discloses if there is a Stone Sour reunion at bay.
Stone Sour Reunion
Speaking to Rock Antenne, Corey Taylor revealed if there would be a future Stone Sour reunion that fans could expect. While fans anticipated a more pleasing response, Taylor seemed to hint at something, sour, literally.
"It's not that I don't miss some of the guys in Stone Sour - I still talk to them," he revealed. But at this stage, I refuse to compromise my vision and my art because of certain people's hindrances. And that's all I'll say."
Taylor's revelation suggests that a Stone Sour reunion, like what he hinted previously, remains the same - it won't be happening anytime soon.
Notably, in another interview in 2020, Taylor suggested that the band would stay as it is - placed under indefinite hiatus.
Discussing his former band, Taylor spoke to The Green Room with Neil Griffiths podcast about their decision to hang the guitars for now.
"I feel like Stone Sour has kinda run its course for now. We all talked as a band and decided to kinda put Stone Sour in indefinite hiatus. That's the way it is," he said at the time.
Back then, Taylor emphasized that the boys are currently "focused" on doing their own things on their own, but pointed out that the possibility of a Stone Sour reunion shouldn't be eliminated entirely.

Corey Taylor 'CMFT2'
Aside from Slipknot and Stone Sour, Corey Taylor is focused on his own music. In 2020, he released "CMFT," and in 2023, the sequel "CMFT2" is due to be released.
Elsewhere in the Rock Antenne interview, Taylor got nothing but praises for his own backing band, which includes his former Stone Sour bandmate, Christian Martucci.
"My solo band is made up of just such clutch dudes. Obviously, I've got Tooch. Zach Throne is incredible. Dustin, our drummer, is amazing. And now having Eliot, the new bass player, who can play anything you throw at him - I mean, it's ridiculous. It's criminal how good he is," he told the show.
As per NME Magazine, "CMFT2" arrives Sep. 15, 2023.
