Olivia Rodrigo 'Vampire' Projected to Bite Into UK Top 1: US Next?

Olivia Rodrigo is pacing a comeback at the top of the charts with "Vampire," as the new lead single was released last Friday, Jun. 30, 2023.

Now, the song snagged the Top 2 of the UK Singles midweek chart, challenging Dave and Central Cee's "Sprinter" which is currently the chart leader.

According to the UK SIngles Midweek Chart, "Sprinter" is still leading the pack, hoping to log its fifth consecutive week at No. 1 on the charts.

Should Rodrigo manage to pull the feat, this could be her third No. 1 single in the UK and her fifth Top 10.

Rodrigo's former single, "Driver's License," was the first single of the singer who debuted at the top of the charts. She was also the youngest solo artist in history to snag the Official U.K. Chart double when "Sour" and "Good 4 U" both released.

So far, Rodrigo has accomplished a lot of feats on the UK charts. According to Billboard, she broke the UK record for most first-week streams ever for a debut album. She also became the first female solo artist to bag three simultaneous U.K. top 5 singles with "Good 4 U," "Deja Vu" and "Traitor."

So far, she has spent 14 weeks in the Top 1 with "Drivers License" and "Good 4 U." Should the song perform commercially well, it could be a precedent to the success of her upcoming album, "Guts."

Meanwhile, in the United States, Rodrigo is pacing for a podium finish again at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts with "Vampire."

If Rodrigo manage to succeed, Talk of the Charts claimed that she would be the first artist ever to have her first two lead singles of her career debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

Rodrigo is challenging Morgan Wallen's "Last Night" on the charts. Rodrigo has to pull more than 72.9 million radio airplay audience impressions and 29.6 million streams next week as that was Wallen's song's performance this week.

Wallen has recorded an unprecedented 13 nonconsecutive weeks at the summit. It is the current leader of the Streaming Songs chart and it holds the No. 3 positions on the Radio Songs and Digital Song Sales charts this week.
