Jennifer Lopez surprised her fans with her thoughts on alcohol - expressing that although she liked to have the "occasional cocktail," it wasn't something that caused her to lose control, or in her words, "sh*t-faced."
Her statement left many people wondering what exactly she meant.
In response to recent criticism, the 53-year-old singer posted a lengthy video on Monday via Instagram to explain her choice to begin her own alcohol business, Delola.
In the Instagram video, the "Maid In Manhattan" star said, "So I'm on my way to sneak out to go and get some Delola."
She told her followers how it dawned on her that she had no Delola for the visitors coming during the Fourth of July weekend. JLo had thought they but confessed she may have been mistaken.
"So I'm gonna go to the store and get some, hopefully, they have it there."
JLo could hardly contain her enthusiasm as she sat in the front passenger seat of the vehicle, continuing how she was pumped for this holiday weekend because nothing was better than spending quality time with those she care about while having a few drinks.
But the "Hustlers" star confessed, "I know that a lot of people have been talking about like, 'Oh she doesn't even drink, what's she doing with a cocktail?' And to tell you the truth, that was true for a long time, I didn't drink."
She went on to say, "A few years back, as you will see from several photos of me out over the past 10, maybe 15 years, I have been having the occasional cocktail."
JLo added, "I do enjoy the occasional cocktail. I do drink responsibly, I don't drink to get sh*t-faced. I drink to be social and to have a nice time and just kind of relax and to let loose a little bit, but always responsibly."
Heading into a local liquor store, Jennifer Lopez was ecstatic to find some bottles of Delola.
When customers and store owners recognized her, their shock swiftly transformed into joy as they requested pictures with her and even started playing her music.

The video posted by JLo to her Instagram followers was met with mixed responses, especially in light of her husband, Ben Affleck's sobriety.
One comment read: "It's quite uncomfortable hearing her talk about drinking responsibly when we know that he has had issues with alcohol for years."
Another individual commented, "I'm having a hard time comprehending her talk of alcohol and mixed drinks when her spouse is supposedly an addict in recovery. It's confusing."
A third social media user mentioned their thoughts on the matter: "It's unfortunate that her husband doesn't take part in drinking, but why does she feel the need to tell everyone? Who cares, right?"
"Perhaps she is even trying to promote her cocktail, which wouldn't be necessary for someone who abstains from alcohol."
