Keke Palmer uploaded a TikTok video that appears to be a not-so-subtle response to fiancé Darius Jackson's (now ex?!) public criticism of her attire.
Palmer, age 29, posted a video of herself swaying in a white tank top and gray sweatpants on Friday, July 7.
The lip-synced to the audio, which was taken from her June interview with Them, in which she stated, "You ain't stopping what's going on with me, sweetheart. So if you about to act up, I'm 'bout to link up."
After sharing her TikTok, the Nope actress also debuted a new merchandise line, presumably inspired by her boyfriend's recent comment.
One thing is certain and one thing is true, IM A MOTHA, through and through!," Palmer tweeted on Friday. "'IM A MOTHA' and 'Stevie to the bulls-t' shirts available NOW!" "'IM A MOTHA' and 'Stevie to the bulls' t-shirts are NOW available!" She added that despite all the commotion, she is doing well.
She even addressed a question to all the mothers out there on how their child altered them. She said hers really enabled her to be a better person.
On an entirely different level, she said her perspective shifted because when her child is doing good, she's extremely feeling well.
The video and merchandise line were released days after Jackson, 29, publicly chastised Palmer for wearing an outfit to an Usher concert in Las Vegas that he disapproved of. The actress from Nope donned a sheer black dress over a bodysuit.
"It's the attire however... you a mother," tweeted Jackson on Wednesday, July 5, alongside a video of Palmer being serenaded by the vocalist, 44, with "There Goes My Baby." Jackson did not retreat in the face of backlash.
He added that we now live in a generation where a family man who doesn't want his wife and the mother of his children to display booty cheeks to please others is called a hater.
Following the controversy, he temporarily deactivated his social media profiles, but he soon returned to Twitter and Instagram. Fans with keen eyesight, however, observed that all previous posts featuring Palmer appear to have been removed from his profiles. Jackson's most recent photograph, posted in June, is of him and his 5-month-old son, Leodis Andrellton. Palmer and Jackson were associated for the first time in the summer of 2021, nearly two years prior to announcing their pregnancy.
Fans are quick to defend Keke Palmer, claiming what's the most bothering about the situation is that she was just shamed IN PUBLIC. While some would say it's fine that Darius wants boundaries, he should have not taken the public route when voicing his concerns about Palmer's outfit.
