Some fans have been wondering what Dan + Shay might be up to in recent months as the duo suddenly became quiet on social media. More recently, it appears that their supporters have the answer already as the group dropped a mysterious pre-save link; is new music coming out soon?
According to Quick Country, the pair, consisting of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, previously revealed that the reason why they were not active online was due to them working on a project which they described as their "best yet."
Then on Sunday, July 9, 2023, the band's social media accounts had a big change as their profile picture was updated out of nowhere. The new snap features the duo sitting on grass then a plus sign logo can be seen in the middle of the image.
The group also updated their bio which reads "7.14.23," meaning a project might come out in a few days.
In addition, they added a pre-save and pre-add link for major music platforms like Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Spotify, which is said to have "new music" but all details about their next song have been kept private.
As of this writing, Dan + Shay have not shared more information about the project except for the possible release date.

In early reports, the duo spoke with Audacy's "Katie & Company" in June 2023 where they discussed new music that would be released in the future and they told the hosts that it would be the best album of their careers so far.
"We're so proud of it, and I'm just so excited to get this out there to the people. We're going to have new music by the end of the year, and I'm fired up for it," Smyers said. (via CMT)
The singer added that both of them are almost done working on their yet-to-be-announced album at the time and they have been working on it for years now.
"We're ironing them out as we go, but it's definitely our best yet," he added.
Dan + Shay Updates
According to Taste of Country, it has been two years since Dan + Shay's last album, "Good Things," was released.
However, despite not having a new album, they were able to release singles like their latest "You." The outlet suggested that in June, the pair have been waiting until the song reaches number one before dropping a new project.
