Reginald Dwight, more famously known as Elton John, bade farewell to life on the yellow brick road with an emotional final performance that marked the end of his 50-year touring career.
Despite his successful music career, the acclaimed singer-songwriter has declared that he will no longer be playing concerts.
But, he did mention the possibility of performing "one-off" shows in the future, according to The Mirror.
Bringing his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour to an end, Elton John recently performed in Stockholm, Sweden for its final stop.
Since beginning in 2018, he's played over 330 dates, with intermittent pauses due to both coronavirus and a hip injury suffered this year. His live shows have been seen by millions of fans around the world.
With an eye on spending more quality time with family, Elton John declared that he was quitting touring and his "priorities have changed".
This means that husband David Furnish, 60, and their two sons Zachary, 12, and Elijah, 10 will get to experience more moments with "Rocket Man."
Having delivered an acclaimed performance, Elton John concluded with the iconic Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. The song provided the perfect title for his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour.
During the show, Elton had a special moment with Coldplay as they were performing in Gothenburg at the time, and front man Chris Martin shared some words with him.
"From all the bands and artists you've helped and inspired, we love you so much. We are so grateful for everything you've done for the AIDS Foundation, anytime you've been kind to anybody."
He went on to say, "For everything you've done for LGBTQ. Everything you've done for fashion and eyewear. Everything you've done for sexiness, love, and dressing gowns!"
The "Sky Full of Stars" singer went on to say, "Everything you've done for music, everything Bernie has done for lyrics, everything your band has done over the thousands of shows you've done. We love you so much, we're going to miss you so much."

Elton John's legendary "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" tour was an extraordinary feat, spanning over five years and consisting of 330 shows.
The 16 Gucci suits he wore throughout the journey only added to its remarkable grandeur.
Last month, it made history by becoming the first-ever tour to rake in more than $900 million according to Billboard Boxscore.
Beginning in 2018, a worldwide tour was set to take place - that is until 2020 when it had to be postponed due to Covid-19.
Last month saw Elton John give his last performance in Britain, taking the stage as headliner of Glastonbury Festival.
