The 2023 Emmy Awards is expected to be one of the biggest and most star-studded telecast on television in the coming months as it would gather the biggest and brightest stars from television, which includes almost half of Hollywood and Broadway.
However, despite the celebrated time of the year, the Television Academy seemed to miss out on some of the most obvious nominees this year.
We've listed some of the 2023 Emmy Awards nomination snubs and surprises.
2023 Emmy Awards Nomination Snubs
Selena Gomez on 'Only Murders in the Building'
Although she has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Television Series Musical or Comedy, Selena Gomez has yet to be nominated for an Emmy nomination for her character Mabel Mora on the hit Hulu series "Only Murders in the Building." Along with Steve Martin, she failed to make any nomination this year for the second season of the show.
'Daisy Jones & The Six' Songs
First-time Emmy nominee Riley Keough is one of this year's breakout stars. However, the songs that fueled "Daisy Jones & The Six," fell short for a nomination this year on the Outstanding Original Song & Lyrics category despite being reported to have three songs in consideration. Keough is going head to head with other actresses on the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category.
James Corden in 'Carpool Karaoke'
After "The Late Late Show with James Corden" bid farewell to television this year, many would have expected that the well-loved show would snag any nominations for its last year in television. However, even its sensational "Carpool Karaoke" fell short too despite a star-studded last season.

2Pac & Biggie
Hip-Hop's biggest names triumphed for a nomination this year as shows about the two titans snagged nominations in two different categories.
"Dear Mama," a show about Tupac Shakur and his mother Afeni, received a nod for Outstanding Documentary or Non-Fiction Series. Meanwhile, The Notorious B.I.G.: "Sky's The Limit: A VR Concert Experience" is a front-runner for the Outstanding Emerging Media Program category.
Elton John
The Rocketman is finally one step away from achieving EGOT Status as he was finally nominated for an Emmy. He was nominated for Outstanding Variety Special (live) for the "Elton John Live: Farewell From Dodger Stadium."
Lizzo
Lizzo is already halfway to an EGOT status and she might be adding another Emmy on her shelf as she was nominated for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) for "Lizzo: Live in Concert."
