Ever since it was announced that the 66th Annual Grammy Awards would be held on Feb. 4, 2024, music fans have been especially thrilled.
As the new year is about to dawn, fans and stans have been guessing, speculating, and predicting which artists get to be nominated (and eventually win) in respective categories. Among the biggest awards of music's biggest night is the Grammy Award for Best New Artist.
Billboard in their new prediction report listed some of the biggest up-and-coming artists today.
Grammy Best New Artist Nominees Predictions
Gracie Abrams
Gracie Abrams had quite the year. Opening for both Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift is an incredible feat for an artist who is just starting. Her album, "Good Riddance" was released on February 2023 and has amassed significant commercial performance.
Coco Jones
Coco Jones is indeed Disney's and Music's next big thing! The Disney alum is making strides in her career as a solo artist. Beating Ice Spice and GlorRilla at the BET Awards, Jones is also one of the strongest contenders for the live-action adaptation of Disney's "Princess and the Frog."
PinkPantheress
Winning the BBC Sound of 2022 poll, the bedroom-pop singer was not only included in the recent "Barbie" movie soundtrack, but she has also a No. 3 Hot 100 track with Ice Spice and a great future in her own niche and sound.
Ice Spice
Ice Spice is perhaps the biggest thing in music right now. Collaborating with Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj not more than a year since her fame catapulted into greater heights, Ice Spice has been enjoying the life of a superstar already. Notably, Ice Spice has charted four Top 10 tracks not more than a year since she gained popularity.
Aside from them, Country artist Bailey Zimmerman is also pressed to be nominated; Mexican rapper Peso Pluma, and Americana star Noah Kahan are also predicted.
Is Ice Spice Worthy For A Grammy Award?
It is important to note that Ice Spice, despite being one of the biggest artists in the world right now, has not yet released her own studio album. With the eligibility period ending on September 2023, Ice must at least release a new record or project to follow up her 2023 EP "Like?"
She has already the backing of Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift; as well as four Top 10 hits with "Karma," "Boy's a Liar Pt2," "Princess Diana," and "Barbie World."
