Toby Keith took a break from the music industry after he announced his stomach cancer diagnosis in 2022, but he is now taking baby steps to return to the spotlight amid his continuous treatment.

The country singer has been undergoing treatments as he fights his stomach cancer diagnosis over the past months. He also shares his battle with others and makes sure to help them by holding fund-raising events and giving the proceeds to other cancer patients and their families.

Following the first set of shows he held recently, Keith is said to be aiming to go back on tour soon.

Toby Keith Wants To Tour Again

After Keith held his two most recent pop-out shows on June 30 and July 1, a source said the 62-year-old "Should've Been a Cowboy" crooner does not have plans to quit and maintains his positive mindset amid his health battle.

"It's been a hellish ordeal, and he's had several setbacks along the way," the unnamed insider told Radar Online. "But there's no quit in Toby. He doesn't believe it's his time yet."

Keith's positive update came over a year after he revealed in a June 2022 Twitter post that he had been undergoing treatments for his stomach cancer diagnosis. He announced, at the same time, that he would take a break to focus on his recovery.

But the country singer did not really go on hiatus as he has also been helping cancer-stricken children through his foundation over the past months. Among the campaigns, he supports include #ChangeKidsHealth, which helps children diagnosed with the disease to beat the dreaded illness.

Toby Keith Getting Better

Keith's appearances followed his positive posts about his health and an interview with The Oklahoman, during which he also expressed his desire to tour again this year.

"All I gotta do is see if I can get through two or three nights of work and get a little break in this chemo, and we'll go back to work," he said. "I'm ready. That's living."

Aside from his ongoing chemotherapy, Keith also started receiving immunotherapy treatment and following a nutritionist's advice, especially after his blood tests improved and his tumor shrunk by a third.
