Troye Sivan finally made a big comeback with his latest single "Rush" but just a week after the music video was released, social media fans immediately called out the singer for not casting diverse dancers.
Many users pointed out that the visuals for the song mainly consisted of thin or muscular men and there are no plus-sized dancers in sight.
Sivan finally addressed the issue in an interview with Billboard and he acknowledged the negative comments he had been receiving, saying, "I definitely hear the critique."
He added that casting other body types "wasn't a thought" they had.
"We obviously weren't saying, 'We want to have one specific type of person in the video.' We just made the video, and there wasn't a ton of thought put behind that," he added.
Troye Sivan Struggles Says He Experienced Body-Shaming Too
The musician went on to say that the negative remarks were misguided and noted that he also experienced body-shaming in the past for his figure.
Sharing his thoughts about an article that he read recently, he noted that he was "bummed out" to read words like "eat something, you stupid twinks."

Later on, Sivan noted that everybody's body is beautiful as it is and he also considered his body type beautiful. However, it was disappointing for him to see the public talk about other people's bodies.
Troye Sivan New Album 2023
Fans have been waiting for five years for Troye Sivan to release a new album and it's finally coming in a few months.
After the release of "Rush," the musician announced that he would drop his next record titled "Something To Give Each Other" which will be available on October 13 via EMI Music Australia.
This would be the follow-up to his 2018 record "Bloom" which featured some of his hit singles "Dance to This" with Ariana Grande, "My My My," and many more.
The reason why it took Sivan a long time to release a new record was due to his last tour in 2019. Following the tour, the pandemic happened and he also started working as one of the cast members for the HBO series "The Idol" with The Weeknd, Lily-Rose Depp, Jennie of BLACKPINK, and more.
