Gareth Gates looks different two decades after his "Pop Idol" win.

The ITV talent show hailed Gates as a runner-up during its first series in 2002, and the win soon led the aspiring singer to sell millions of records in the UK in the years thereafter.

Decades after the life-changing event, he also showed a massive transformation in his physique compared to his "Pop Idol" days.

Gareth Gates "Unrecognizable" During Recent Show

Gates seemingly got a massive glow-up two decades after joining "Pop Idol," and he showed off his jaw-dropping and buffed body during his most recent performance in Ibiza.

In the clips and photos shared by The Mirror, the 39-year-old "Anyone of Us" crooner performed topless and displayed his chiseled abs in front of his fans and other holidaymakers on Sangrias. He also gave himself his much-needed break by spending time with songwriter Ryan Ashley, who watched him by the pool at the beach club.

His show came after sources confirmed that he and his then-girlfriend, DJ Chloe McLennan, broke up in November after dating for three years. He soon sparked romance rumors with Allana Taylor, who has been tapped to become part of the West End production of "Grease," after the beauty posted a photo of herself holding a man's hand.

The Sun released a report after receiving a confirmation from Gareth's representative, saying that the duo enjoyed a number of dates following their meeting in Panto in 2022. Before the singer's new romance bloomed, he previously proposed to Faye Brooks after they starred in "Legally Blonde: The Musical."

Gareth Gates Scores Another Gig

Although Gates is yet to share whether he will release a new album soon, multiple news outlets confirmed that the "The Long and Winding Road" crooner was tapped to become part of a new Frankie Valli show.

The show in question, "The Best of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons," will start on Oct. 3 at Eastwood Park Theatre, and it has since been described as a "spectacular high-pitched celebration of timeless music from one of the biggest-selling groups of all time."

It will reportedly feature hit songs like "Walk Like a Man," "Can't Take My Eyes Off You," and "Big Girls Don't Cry," to name a few.

Gates already had an experience in musical theater as he previously performed in West End productions like "Les Miserables" and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."
