S Club 7 offered a surprise to fans ahead of its highly-anticipated 25th anniversary UK tour.

The British pop group will return as a five-member band this year after Hannah Spearritt decided to leave the lineup after Paul Cattermole's death. Despite losing two members, Jo O'Meara, Jon Lee, Rachel Stevens, Bradley McIntosh, and Tina Barrett decided to push through with their plans, and they dropped another surprise before the tour.

S Club 7's New Single 2023

S Club 7 hyped fans Monday with an Instagram Reel about its new music coming out this week. The group also unveiled a photo of Barrett, McIntosh, and O'Meara sitting together in a red convertible with the license plate, "S Club."

The new song, which will be released on July 26, will be the band's first single in 20 years and first song ahead of its 2023 tour.

S Club 7's label, XIX Entertainment, shared a separate statement to confirm the band's plans and its comeback before touring in England starting in October. According to the company, the new single will honor the late member following his death in April.

"We're excited to announce that British pop legends @sclub will release their new single 'These Are The Days' on Wed 26 July," XIX Entertainment said. "The single is being released via @universalmusicgroup as part of a brand new global partnership."

What Happened to Paul Cattermole?

Prior to Cattermole's death, the late member still expressed his excitement to join the group's reunion. However, he was soon found unconscious at his Dorset home on April 6 and died hours later.

The Dorset Police released an official statement clarifying that no suspicious circumstances happened to the singer. Two months after his demise, his death certificate, obtained by People, noted that he died of multiple heart problems and had severe coronary artery atheroma and intraplaque hemorrhage, cardiac arrhythmia, and acute myocardial ischemia at the time of his passing.

A spokesperson for the coroner said that the investigations into the singer's passing had officially concluded following the confirmation.

On the other hand, The Mirror reported that Spearritt was "inconsolable" after Cattermole's death, leading her to leave the group and miss the reunion tour, which is set to begin in October at Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena.
