In a statement quoted by The Mirror, the "Smile" singer puts people on blast after posting tributes in celebration of Sinead O'Connor's death.
"It's hard not to feel incensed when there are so many people posting about Sinead and how fearless she was, people who would never in a million years align themselves with anybody who stood for something or had anything remotely controversial to say," she wrote.
Back then, O'Connor had been a very stern activist in issues surrounding abuse in the Catholic faith. She infamously tore a photo of Pope John Paul II at a "Saturday Night Live" performance. (via The New York Post)
O'Connor' received massive flak at the time, which led to her music career plummeting.
"It's so spineless. If you can't stand up for people in life don't do it in death. It's also troubling that people have seemingly felt so empathetic towards her but didn't feel that they could show it or express it for some reason. until they died. what does that say about us?" she added.
Allen's statement came days after Morrissey said the same thing about the tributes for O'Connor.

Per Morrissey, O'Connor was dropped by her very own label at the time after she managed to sell 7 million albums for them.
"She had proud vulnerability and there is a certain music industry hatred for singers who don't 'fit in' (this I know only too well), and they are never praised until death - when, finally, they can't answer back. You praise her now ONLY because it is too late. You hadn't the guts to support her when she was alive and she was looking for you," he wrote.
