In the September 2023 cover story of Vanity Fair, released on August 8, Riley confidently predicted great joy in her future with Grandma. "Things with Grandma will be happy. They've not been happy."
Riley Keough, granddaughter of the late and great music icon, Elvis Presley, has opened up about her legal dispute with his widow, Priscilla.
"There was a bit of upheaval, but now everything's going to be how it was. She's a beautiful woman, and she was a huge part of creating my grandfather's legacy and Graceland. It's very important to her. He was the love of her life."
She went on to say, "Anything that would suggest otherwise in the press makes me sad because, at the end of the day, all she wants is to love and protect Graceland and the Presley family and the legacy. That's her whole life."
"So it's a big responsibility she has tried to take on. None of that stuff has ever been a part of our relationship prior. She's just been my grandma."
The sudden death of Riley's 54-year-old mother Lisa Marie Presley had a massive impact on the lives of the entire family, according to remarks from Emmy nominated actress.
Riley said it was like all structure and sanity had completely disappeared, adding everything felt like the rug had been pulled out and the floor just vanished beneath them.
The "Daisy Jones and the Six" singer-actress revealed it was a confusing time for all of them and it took them minutes to make sense of their situation.

In the end, they reportedly realized they were a family, but they also have the company side to take into consideration.
Thankfully, Riley was able to provide the much-needed clarity that they needed.
A few months after Lisa Marie's passing, the New York Post reported that there was claims of fraud made by Priscilla - challenging her daughter's trust.
After a lengthy legal dispute between Riley and Priscilla, it was determined in May that Riley would be the sole owner of the estate.
With regards to the settlement, Priscilla stated that she believes Elvis would have been pleased with this outcome, as well as receiving a financial payout.
On August 4, a legal agreement was made that allowed Riley to become the owner of Lisa Marie's estate and Elvis' famous Graceland.
As part of the arrangement, Priscilla was granted permission to be laid to rest next to Elvis when she passes away.
"I don't know why she wouldn't be buried at Graceland," Riley revealed.
"I don't understand what the drama in the news was about. Yeah. If she wants to be, of course. Sharing Graceland with the world was her idea from the start."
