Bad news for festivalgoers! This year's Made in America festival has been officially canceled just two months after revealing its star-studded lineup. More recently, fans speculated that they might know the reason why the music event is being halted.

Taking to their official Instagram account, organizers of the show revealed that the event will not move forward this year due to "severe circumstances outside of production control."

They added that the decision has been hard for them and it has not been made lightly.

"Made in America has a legacy of delivering exceptional experiences for music fans and concert goers, and it is our commitment to always deliver a top-tier festival experience," they added. (via Billboard)

As of this writing, there is still no exact reason why the event was canceled aside from their initial statement.

Made in America Festival 2023

According to Billboard, the show was supposed to take place on September 2 to 3 at Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia.

This year's show initially announced its star-studded lineup featuring Ice Spice, Metro Boomin, Coi Leray, Coco Jones, Lil Yachty, SZA, Lizzo, and many more.

The festival was founded by Jay-Z himself more than a decade ago. The festival has been delivering performances from a wide range of artists from different genres ever since its conception.

However, the only time that the event got canceled was during the COVID-19 pandemic, but they made a big comeback last year with performances from Bad Bunny, Tyler, the Creator, and many more.

For those who already purchased their tickets for the show, you will be refunded at the original point of purchase, as promised in the statement.

Fans Think It Was Lizzo's Fault

Although organizers of the show didn't explicitly reveal that Lizzo was the reason why the festival is being canceled, many fans speculated that it was her fault as she's currently facing serious allegations from her former backup dancers.

"No surprise when your headliner is literally being sued. And y'all lessen the genre of music and the number of artist," one wrote.

"WE ASKED TO REMOVE LIZZO NOT THE WHOLE FESTIVAL," another one wrote.

"Line up was dumb weak and this is Lizzo fault too," one noted.

As of this writing, none of the artists included in this year's lineup has yet to address the festival's cancelation.
