The world knows him as V of BTS, but now he is setting out as a soloist, and fans cannot get enough of him.
After months of anticipating what could V possibly have up his sleeve once he launches his solo music career, fans finally have an idea, thanks to the newly released music video for the KPOP idol's debut single "Love Me Again."
This is the first single from V, so all eyes and ears are trained on him because many are wondering what sound and aesthetic the singer is gunning for.
"Love Me Again" is a slow ballad, with upbeat synths and tambourines in the playback. The music video shows the KPOP star singing in what looks like a cave with strobe lights flashing around.
V the Last Member of BTS
While V, or Taehyung, as his fans call him, is not the youngest member, he is the last member of BTS to launch his solo career.
Just a few weeks ago, Jungkook dropped "Seven," which instantly became a No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100.
BTS fans are determined to see V's song atop the music charts, just as they did to Jungkook. It seems like, though, that the two members would have to complete-along with other artists-for the highly coveted spot.
Other BTS members also enjoyed topping the Billboard Hot 100, like Jimin's solo debut single "Face," which was released earlier this year.
Fans would have to work overtime because both V and Jungkook are set to drop their respective albums soon.
V Gears Up for His Solo
V is in full promotion mode right now. Just as he had released his new song, he also graced the cover of "W Korea" for its September issue.
Although the magazine or the KPOP star did not disclose if the theme and aesthetics he was wearing on the cover are a reflection of the upcoming album's concept, it seems like the case.
The cover shows V wearing a leather jacket layered on top of a black top. His hair is slicked back and he is wearing signature Cartier pieces.
According to reports, fans should definitely expect more from V in the coming days, as the KPOP star is dropping several other singles along the way before the album's eventual release on Sept. 8.
The second single, "Rainy Days" is slated for an Aug. 11 drop, followed by "Slow Dancing" on the day the album, "Layover" is released.
