Following the girl's father and former manager's refusal to confirm or deny her death, shock over a statement announcing her sudden death of Lil Tay, it is now confirmed that she is alive and everything has been a hoax. The thing is, why did it take so long for the rapper to deny the rumors and her family to immediately say so instead of refusing to confirm the news? Her manager also? Are they all behind this?

Lil Tay Alive

The report of the death of the 15-year-old internet personality and rapper who first gained notoriety as a foul-mouthed, haughty nine-year-old on Instagram, gave way to confusion. But since many credible media suits followed in reporting such, fans were quick to assume it is true. Music Times is actually one of the firsts to say that this might be a hoax.

However, TMZ has now reported that she is still alive.

The star's death at the age of 15 was described as "sudden and tragic" and "entirely unexpected" in an unsigned message that was placed on Lil Tay's Instagram account on Wednesday. It also stated that both of her brothers' deaths were being investigated, including the passing of her older brother Jason Tian, who at one point managed her account before it became inactive in 2018.

The post is now deleted.

According to a statement from her family, TMZ revealed on Thursday that the social media sensation was actually still alive and that her Instagram account had been hacked.

Lil Tay claimed she just experienced a very traumatic 24 hours. While attempting to resolve this problem, she said she received a steady stream of tearful and sorrowful phone calls from loved ones yesterday. She added that her Instagram account was hacked by a third party and exploited to propagate alarming rumors and false information about me, to the point where even her name was incorrect. She said she is not Claire Hope, but Tay Tian.

Signs That Her Team Might Be Involved in Own Death Hoax

On Wednesday morning, Lil Tay's father and former manager declined to confirm or deny that she had passed away, with the latter urging "cautious consideration" in how the news should be handled.

Her father, Christopher Hope, declined to comment on the Instagram photo and to confirm whether his daughter was still alive in an interview with Insider. Harry Tsang, her former manager, also declined to confirm or deny her passing.

Tsang was unavailable for additional comment when The Guardian tried to reach her. Internet rumors about whether the announcement was a hoax have gone wild in the lack of confirmation.

According to Insider, the police in Vancouver, where Lil Tay was born and raised, and Los Angeles, where she briefly lived during the height of her viral stardom, had no knowledge of the death of any Claire Hope.

The Vancouver police department acknowledged that no case was under investigation.

Could it be them who are actually behind this? The rapper, her own family, and even her manager?

Some fans think so! Considering how Lil Tay break through the influencer world when she was just 9, some are inclined to believe she can do this. The family itself seems fine with being in the limelight, even if this is not in a positive kind of light.

Lil Tay, back when she was just a brazen, obnoxious nine-year-old, amassed more than 2 million followers in 2017 with videos showing the youngster in mansions and expensive cars with wads of cash.

After a video was aired online in which she appeared to be receiving coaching from a person off-camera, many speculated that it was her brother Jason, the account was shut down that summer. The account continued that October with strange and unsettling activities, including a posted and later removed video of the girl sobbing.

The posts, which were later removed, made severe accusations of abuse against Christopher Hope during a contentious custody battle. Many believed Jason had assumed control of the account and was responsible for Lil Tay's catchy videos. Following a purported business dispute between Tsang and Hope and Lil Tay, Jason, and their mother, Angela Tian, on the one hand, and Tsang and Hope on the other, activity on the account briefly resumed in 2021 with several posts, presumably from her brother, accusing Christopher Hope of physical and mental abuse and stealing all of Lil Tay's money.

Hope sent Instagram a cease-and-desist letter after denying the accusations.

ATM, her IG is showing some weird activity, with captions from past posts being edited. Could be that she was truly hacked. Plus, where is the brother?
