Aaron Carter reached his final resting place months after his body was cremated.
Carter's body reunited with his family after the authorities released it following an autopsy. Initial reports said his sister, Angel, would hold his ashes until he was laid to rest.
Where Is Aaron Carter's Final Resting Place?
In her interview with People for the magazine's latest issue, Carter's twin sister opened up about laying the singer to rest following his tragic death last year.
Angel Carter, 35, said that losing a twin is an out-of-body experience, and she felt it when her brother died. She told the magazine how she had thoughts of getting him home and protecting him.
She then brought home his ashes earlier this year.

"I have him here," Angel said. "And for a few months after he died, it was my last way to protect him. I don't want anybody to do anything weird with him."
Aaron Carter's ashes will be buried at Forest Lawn, Angel confirmed.
As she does it for her brother, she proclaimed that not letting anyone else exploit him was her last act of love.

Before Carter's death, they also lost their sister, Leslie, in 2012 following a similar drug overdose.
Angel is now working with the children's mental health organization, On Our Sleeves, as she aims to help others so her siblings' deaths would never be in vain.
During the same interview, she opened up about how her parents abused alcohol and created a toxic environment for the family. Things worsened when Carter and their brother, Nick, were pushed into the spotlight.
According to Angel, fame and money took over their family and led Carter to develop an addiction.
"I always felt like that was the beginning of the end," she continued. "Aaron was already in a bad place, but it was like a domino effect."
Before Carter's death, he admitted himself into a rehabilitation facility five years prior, and the doctors diagnosed him with schizophrenia and multiple personality disorder.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner revealed in April that the late singer drowned after taking alprazolam and inhaling difluoroethane. It revealed that Carter was incapacitated while in the bathtub as the drugs took over his system until it led to his drowning and, ultimately, death.
