It's been weeks since Rauw Alejandro and Rosalia announced that they're breaking off their engagement and the former just released a new song that revolves around the topic of a breakup and many fans speculated that the track is about his former lover; check out what he has to say in the lyrics below.
According to Uproxx, the singer dropped the track titled "Hayami Hana." Although he never explicitly named his ex in the track, many believed that it was obviously about Rosalia.
In the lyrics, Alejandro talks about being pressured by the public, especially by the press and the media, and the life that they had was not meant for everybody.
He also opened up about constantly working apart as he sings, "Long distance is tougher, it's easier if we're close / We work non-stop, but to what extent?" (Translated from Spanish to English by Genius)
Ever since the couple broke up, there have been rumors circulating about the singer cheating on his then-girlfriend, and he seemingly addressed the allegations through his lyrics.
"I am a lot of things, but not a cheater / She always had my phone's password," he sang.
As of this writing, Rosalia has yet to react to the recent song, Rauw Alejandro has also not revealed whether the track was really about his ex-fiancé or not.
Rauw Alejandro Speaks Out on Break Up
After reports about the couple breaking off their engagement, Rauw Alejandro broke his silence on Twitter, confirming that he and Rosalia had indeed broken up.
He said in his post that he's thankful to the musician for being a big part of his professional accomplishments as a singer throughout their relationship.
In addition, she was also a significant person through the positive things that happened to him.
"Yes, a few months ago, Rosi and I ended our engagement," he wrote. (translated from Spanish to English via Billboard)
His latest song was not the first time he addressed the cheating rumors as he also noted in his statement that although there were "thousands of problems that can cause a breakup," he clarified that there was no cheating of third party involved.
Rosalia Also Breaks Her Silence After Split
After Rauw Alejandro shared his statement, Rosalia took online to address the rumors and allegations surrounding their split.
She posted on her Instagram story that she loves, respects, and admires her ex-fiancé and she's not paying attention to "the movies," meaning she didn't care about the speculations.
"We know what we lived. This is not an easy moment, so thank you for understanding and respecting," she added.
