Has Megyn Kelly proven to be an odd ally for troubled pop icon Lizzo? Is she even a good ally to have?!
The talk show presenter, who is known for being critical of celebrities she considers "woke," has come to the singer's support after accusations that she forced dancers to engage in disgusting sex practices and discouraged them from gaining weight.
Three of Lizzo's former backup dancers are suing her on the grounds that the singer sexually harassed them and fostered a hostile work environment.
The dancers said the pop artist, whose actual name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, made comments about their weight and pressured one of them to touch a nude performer in a strip club.
Lizzo herself refuted the charges and claimed that her accusers had already received warnings for their own "inappropriate and unprofessional" behavior.
The Megyn Kelly Show on SiriusXM, where radio presenter Kelly discussed the complaint, said she did not believe the accusations made against the singer by the dancers.
"Now I confess, when I first saw this, I was like, "Well she's very famous, she's probably very rich, and that makes her a target"," she said.
"So I don't necessarily believe the three dancers who came forward to say she created a hostile work environment," she added.
"Because I have to be honest that the allegation sounds like weak sauce to me."
Kelly added that "the fact that Lizzo is morbidly obese doesn't change that reality for dancers who are in the professional industry."
"I don't think that's hostile work environment," she emphasized. "But now since these three filed the lawsuit claiming Lizzo created a hostile work environment, more and more people are coming forward."
Additionally, Lizzo is charged with coercing a former dancer to touch a nude performer at an Amsterdam sex show. She allegedly invited cast members to take bananas from nude performers' vaginas in the Dutch capital, according to the former dancers.
It's unclear if Kelly is a good ally to have, but Beyonce certainly is.
In light of the lawsuit filed by Lizzo's former dancers against the "About Damn Time" singer on Monday night, Beyoncé mentioned Lizzo during her performance of "Break My Soul (The Queens Remix)".
"Lizzo! I love you, Lizzo!," Beyoncé said on stage at her Renaissance concert in Atlanta.
After sexual harassment and body-shaming claims against Lizzo surfaced online, Beyoncé seemed to leave Lizzo's name off of her regular list of legendary artists in "Break My Soul (The Queens Remix)" during her Aug. 1 performance in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
Either she rejects the claims outright or she has lost interest.
Nevertheless, some Beyonce fans were understandably offended.
