Elvis Presley's only daughter Lisa Marie Presley had similar health issues as the late King of Rock and Roll, and an expert recently claimed the singer ignored the warning signs before her death.
Elvis and Lisa Marie's deaths have been compared as the public noticed similarities between them. While the female actress' death in January shocked the world, an expert claimed that the singer was aware of the warning signs in her health but chose to ignore them.
Lisa Marie Presley Could Have Prevented Death?
In the years leading to her death, Lisa Marie suffered different health issues - including a heart condition that led her to be rushed to a hospital by her ex-husband, Danny Keough.
She faced more issues at the medical facility that resulted in a temporary pacemaker being attached to her. However, her health continuously declined until she passed away a few minutes later.
According to Sally Hoedel, Lisa Marie was aware she was struggling with the same health issues as her father but endured them for years instead.
"The obstruction itself was caused by scar tissue from a gastric bypass surgery that was performed years ago," she said. "At face value, that has little correlation to how her famous father died."
Hoedel, who is also a fan of Elvis, explained that the obstruction compromised her blood supply, eventually causing tissue damage and infection before ultimately having an organ failure. She added that the gastric bypass surgery's pain probably caused Lisa Marie not to seek medical treatment sooner.
Lisa Marie Presley's Signs of Deteriorating Health
The expert talked about the report that detailed Lisa Marie's health in the months leading to her death. Aside from cardiac arrest, the late singer also struggled with metabolic acidosis that was a result of kidney disease or kidney failure.
As no one knew if it was a short-term or long-term condition, Hoedel noted the possibility of having genetic kidney disease in her paternal line as Elvis' uncle died from kidney disease in 1968. The late rocker's cousin also suffers the same kidney disease as of press time.
Among the symptoms of the condition include vomiting, confusion, nausea, bowel obstruction, and change in heart rate.
