BLACKPINK fans have been waiting for months for the KPOP girl group to finally release their virtual game called "BLACKPINK: The Game," along with its official soundtrack.
According to reports, the KPOP group will be releasing a new song as well as an accompanying music video titled "The Girls" on Aug. 25.
In the meantime, fans can listen to the new song and watch its music video through the virtual game which is a mobile application.
'BLACKPINK: The Game' OST Delayed
"BLACKPINK: The Game" was launched back in May, and despite the game being released months ago, fans were surprised and a bit confused as to why it has taken the group so long to release the official soundtrack.
The official social media accounts for "The Game" posted a statement regarding the delays regarding the release of the song.
"We understand that the wait must feel endless and frustrating.
First and foremost, we would like to sincerely apologize for the continued delay.
"Our deep desire to present the highest quality of content flawlessly took longer than expected, and therefore our initial plan to release the [music video] simultaneously with the game release was delayed significantly."
The news of the release date being pushed back was met with criticisms from fans.
"This is how you treat fans and customers? For real. Instead of pretending like nothing happened, you can do this from the beginning. Why it took you 3 months to address the OST release? It's so disappointing," one wrote.
"WITHIN A FK MONTHHH???? IN THE GAMEEE??? You BETTER be joking."
BLACKPINK Launches Games
According to reports, "The Game" gives fans the opportunity to immerse themselves into the world of being a KPOP idol and becoming a producer and even a CEO of a recording label and talent agency.
"The Game" will feature all four members of BLACKPINK-Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose-as 3D avatar characters.
Fans will be accomplishing mini tasks and games to earn points and level up.
According to reports, "The Girls" will have a physical package that will be available for purchase through YG Select, Weverse, and more. Fans can pre-order the package right now.
