Like Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, and Selena Gomez, Olivia Rodrigo came from Disney. From being Paige Olvera in "Bizaardvark" to becoming Nini Salazar-Roberts in "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series," Rodrigo's fame and popularity catapulted in 2021 and her life has changed since then.

Unlike the aforementioned three Disney alums, Rodrigo has three Grammy Awards on her belt, thanks to her smash debut album, "Sour."

Now, she is days away from releasing her new album, "GUTS," which many are expecting to follow through the success and quality of her critically acclaimed debut.

Olivia Rodrigo 'GUTS' Songs Sneak Peek

The New York Times got a hold of the first few songs of the 12-tracked "Guts" by Olivia Rodrigo, which is due Sep. 8, 2023, worldwide.

According to the publication, her opening track, "All-American Bitch," is somehow like its predecessor, "Brutal," - it's full of expletives and charged with power chords that are said to highlight her angelic soprano voice. The outlet even noted that the song was "an uncorking of emotions that don't often find voice in pop."

On the other hand, the "Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl" is characterized by "cathartic" screams as she lists down "embarrassing party fouls," which by the looks of the title, she did as she never had the chance to socialize with others.

Meanwhile, her first two lead singles of the album, "Vampire," and "Bad Idea, Right?" are already released. It debuted at No. 1 and No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

Olivia Rodrigo Found Solace In Rock?

Rodrigo seemed to be adamant in straying away from the said pop-R&B route that other Disney stars like Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake took after graduating from the House of Mouse, instead, she opted to go back to her roots.

"For me, that's what music is, it's expressing those feelings that are really hard to externalize, or that you feel aren't societally acceptable to externalize," Rodrigo told the publication. "Especially as a girl."

Among the acts that were clearly on her playlist were Rage Against The Machine, Depeche Mode, Snail Mail, Joni Mitchell, Kathleen Hanna, Gwen Stefani, Beyoncé and Sleater-Kinney, Simon & Garfunkel and Sweet, among many others.

Rodrigo professed her love for rock music.

"[I've] always loved rock music, and always wanted to find a way that I could make it feel like me, and make it feel feminine and still telling a story and having something to say that's vulnerable and intimate," she added.

One of her idols, Jack White, gave her a poignant letter that kept her motivated as she worked on "Guts."

"Your only job is to write music that you would want to hear on the radio," he said.
