Taylor Swift is expressing her admiration for Selena Gomez, her best friend who recently dropped her first single in almost a year.
On Friday, Gomez released the sensual, energetic dance music "Single Soon," and she wasn't just feeling the love from her fans following the release; her best pal joined in, too.
"When your bestie is the bestest," Swift, 33, said on her Instagram Story on Saturday while reposting a reel that Gomez, 31, had initially published that contained various segments from the song's music video.
Swift added, "Will be dancing to this forever methinks," to the Cashmere Cat and Benny Blanco-produced song. On Sunday, Gomez mirrored the "Anti-Hero" singer's Instagram post on her own account.
According to Gomez on Instagram, "Single Soon" is "a playful anthem about being comfortable in your own skin and loving your own company," and "it's also really fun to dance to!"
The "Only Murders in the Building" actress' future album, provisionally named SG3, which she has been working on for much of the previous year, is also teased by the song.
On Instagram, she stated that the album is "not quite finished," but she still wanted to release the "fun little song," which she described as "perfect for the end of summer." The founder of Rare Beauty even included her 10-year-old sister, Gracie Teefey, in the fun while recording the song. "Hi. I adore you, sis. Never stress with dating. At all," Teefey declared in the song's opening sequence of the music video, a portion of which Gomez posted on Instagram.
Swift and Gomez have a cherished friendship that has been around for a while. They have made quite a few public appearances together so far this year, despite the fact that both celebrities are typically guarded about their lives. At one of Swift's Eras Tour concerts in Arlington, Texas, in April, Gomez and her sister provided support.
In keeping with tour custom, Swift gave Gracie her hat in the middle of her Red smash song "22." The two also celebrated July 4th together, and when they posted a number of images from their celebrity-studded holiday celebration, they almost completely crashed the internet.
The musical Haim sisters Este, Danielle, and Alana were present with Swift and Gomez, as well as stylist Ashley Aivgnone and model Sydney Ness, who was previously linked to Swift's brother Austin.
Along with a collection of polaroid pictures that had been taken throughout the trip, the photos showed the girls posing in swimwear. In one photo, Gomez and Swift are seen laughing while Swift is posing with her arms around her shoulders.
Gomez took her sister to witness Swift's Eras Tour earlier this month, when the band's "Lavender Haze" played five sold-out gigs in Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium to close the tour's U.S. leg.
She remained discrete in the VIP area at the concert, but tweeted a picture of the several friendship bracelets she received from attendees. She captioned the picture of her huge collection, "Thank you to the fans who traded with me."
