Little Shop of Horrors Cast New Audrey, Seymour
In a press release shared with People Magazine, Wu recalled how the musical became a part of her.
"#1 favorite musical since I first saw a community production growing up in Richmond, Virginia. The music is so wonderful & I love Audrey. I relate to her scrappiness and finding beauty in the simple things," she told the magazine.
According to Wu, she is "so excited" to be in this production - "singing and performing" with the " brilliant Corbin Bleu" while she is "enjoying the thrill of live & alive theater with the audience."
As for Bleu, he said that has "been a fan of Little Shop since childhood," after watching on repeat the 1986 original film Rick Moranis and Ellen Greene
"I've been a fan of Little Shop since childhood - I watched the film on repeat. It's a perfect musical and this is definitely a dream-fulfilling moment for me. I am really looking forward to performing with Constance and finding our Seymour & Audrey dynamic. We both love and crave live theater-our mutual excitement is kinetic," he said.
Wu and Bleu will be assuming the roles on Sep. 26, 2023.
