It has been a while since BLACKPINK's resident vocalist Jisoo has dabbled in acting; she starred in "Snowdrop," released in 2021, and starred alongside Jung Hae-in.

According to reports, the KPOP star will be starring in a zombie themed Kdrama called "Influenza," alongside actor Park Jung-min.

A brief synopsis of the upcoming drama has been revealed: Jisoo will play Young Joo, a young woman who is waiting for her boyfriend to return from the military. She is struggling with their relationship before he promptly breaks it off.

She attempts to rekindle their romance by visiting him at the military base only to find out there has been a zombie outbreak. The Kdrama follows the pair as they fend off the zombies and fight for their lives.

BLACKPINK Jisoo's Acting Career

"Influenza" will be Jisoo's second acting project since 2021's "Snowdrop," which garnered mixed reviews from viewers.

According to reports, some loyal fans of BLACKPINK and the singer slash actress have insisted that Jisoo is a great actress.

However, following the news of Jisoo starring in a new Kdrama has stirred up conversation regarding her acting skills, which they claim is not up to par as other actors and actresses in South Korea.

"'Creators of 'Sky Castle, 'Creators of 'Parasite.' Getting roles in a drama written by one of best directors and writers in the kdrama industry literally shows how good actress Jisoo is despite being new actress and that is a fact no Twitter user will change anything from it," a fan wrote.

On the other hand, South Korean fans are dismayed to hear the news of Jisoo's upcoming acting gig.

BLACKPINK Fans Don't Want Jisoo to Act?

According to reports, there were several negative reactions towards Jisoo's acting from her first acting gig, which is why South Korean netizens felt weary of seeing the KPOP star have another go at acting.

"I'm surprised since she's so bad at acting," one wrote about the news.

"Jisoo's acting... How did she get a leading role?" Another added.

"Please don't ruin projects by giving roles to people who can't act. If the other actors are good, then (Jisoo's) acting deficiency becomes that much more glaring."

Others even suggested that Jisoo sticks to singing instead of acting. While some agreed that the singer is not really a good actress, they stressed how "harsh" some of the comments are.
