Doja Cat is gearing up for the release of her new album titled "Scarlet," but right after she announced the official release date and unveiled the cover art, the project was immediately involved in a controversy.
After the musician took to her official Instagram account to share the official album cover, which is an artwork by an artist named Dusty Ray, many fans have called out the rapper as they noticed that it was heavily similar to the cover of a German metal band called Chaver.
The original photo had been taken down from her profile.
More recently, the "Paint the Town Red" hitmaker appeared to have taken an action and shared a completely new album cover after she was accused of copying the band's artwork.
In a new post shared on the social media platform, the hip-hop artist shared the new album cover featuring two spiders clashing each other.
In the caption, Doja Cat didn't change the release date as it's still September 22.
Doja Cat 'Scarlet' Album Cover
In early reports, the album cover of "Scarlet" was a spider designed with pink hues in a plain white background and a droplet of blood on top of it.
Many people have pointed out that it was almost identical to the album cover of "Of Gloom" by the German metal band Chaver. The only difference is the group's cover has a different background as there were grunge speckles around and the spider was shaped differently.
