In the brand-new comedy "Sumotherhood," Ed Sheeran is expected to make a surprise appearance.
The rapper and filmmaker Adam Deacon's new movie, which is described in the blurb as "a parody of the UK urban genre," features the singer, 32, in the teaser.
In the footage, Ed, who will portray a homeless drug user, is heard saying: "Oi oi what you saying."
Although it's uncertain how much Ed will appear in the upcoming movie, it will be one of the few times he appears on screen as someone other than himself.
A source told The Sun's Bizarre column earlier this year that Ed plays a character who is homeless and has a drug habit. Although the movie was shot a while ago, production is virtually finished, and it is anticipated to release this year.
The casting is intriguing, and Ed Sheeran in particular is a popular choice. Although fans will immediately recognize him, he doesn't play a significant role in the movie, and they have never seen him appear this way.

The addition of Jeremy Corbyn to the cast of Sumotherhood, which was filmed in London last year, has also been announced. The 74-year-old politician makes a brief cameo in the trailer and says only "Allow it, wasteman."
His attire appears to be the same as it did during his time as Labour leader, although it is unclear if he is portraying himself or a made-up person. Additionally scheduled to star in the movie are Jennifer Saunders and Denise Van Outen.
"Sumotherhood," an action-packed parody of Adam Deacon's earlier films Kidulthood and Adulthood, was written by Adam Deacon, Michael Vu, and Jazzie Zonzolo. Adam Deacon also directs and stars in the film.
It's highly unlikely though that Ed Sheeran would even consider shifting to acting completely when his singing career is going so well.
In fact, Ed Sheeran surpassed Taylor Swift's record for the largest attendance ever at Lumen Field over the weekend, barely a month after the singer's Eras Tour caused earthquakes in Seattle. The Sheeran team said that 81,000 people attended the show on Saturday night, according to The Seattle Times. On X, formerly known as Twitter, Lumen Field said on Saturday night that 77,286 spectators were present.
