Thursday morning saw the presales of tickets for Taylor Swift's "Eras" Tour concert film break records.
The reported amount has already blown past the $10 million mark.
This new figure is remarkable compared to "BTS: Yet to Come movie," which sold $8 million worth of tickets in its opening weekend earlier this year.
Distribution execs are exhilarating as they try to calculate how well this tour recap will do when it opens on four separate weekends, reports Deadline.
They are trying to anticipate outcomes and plan accordingly for its opening weekend.
In response to news that a documentary had caused producers of the horror film "Exorcist: Believer" to change its release date, it has been decided that social media, email blasts, and Swift shall all be used to launch a promotional campaign.
On Thursday, when it was revealed that "Eras" Tour documentary would be released on the same date as "The Exorcist," October 13th, a quick decision was made to alter the premiere.
As a result, "The Exorcist" will now be released on October 6th. Jason Blum, one of the movie's producers, had an interesting take on the situation, he quipped in response to this change.
"Look what you made me do!" and adding the hashtag "#taylorwins."
There has been no public comment from Taylor regarding "The Exorcist: Believer's" new release date.
Meanwhile, in an Instagram post, a thrilled and excited Taylor Swift revealed that her incredible experience on The "Eras" Tour will be shown in theaters for all to see.
Generating excitement, the "Anti-Hero" hitmaker added, "Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged."
In expectation of the high volume of requests for tickets to the Eras tour from devoted Swifties who won't be able to attend in person, movie ticketing websites have readied their servers.
NPR reported that AMC had to dramatically expand their online capacity, growing the website and servers to enable them to process more than five times the amount of people attempting to purchase tickets than they ever have before.
Legendary film director Sam Wrench, best known for his work with Billie Eilish, Jennifer Lopez, BTS, and Pentatonix, has been chosen to direct the movie experience of Taylor Swift's "Eras" tour.
A prominent figure in the entertainment industry, President and CEO of the National Association of Theatre Owners, expressed his enthusiasm for Taylor Swift's tour film hitting theaters.
"The Eras experience won't be able to be replicated anywhere else," said Michael O'Leary.
"Movie theaters are capable of providing fans with an immersive experience with a shared passion for Taylor Swift alongside cutting-edge projection and sound." reported USA Today.
