Will The Rolling Stones finally drop their highly-anticipated new music?
Fans have been looking forward to a new The Rolling Stones song or album since the members constantly hinted at it over the past few years. Most recently, the band's record label dropped another sign of new material from the group before the members themselves teased a new song.
The Rolling Stones Releasing New Song?
The Rolling Stones launched the website dontgetangrywithme.com, which seemingly suggested that the next track from the band would be titled "Don't Get Angry With Me." Once released, it would officially become their first album since Charlie Watts' death in August 2021 and the first material since "A Bigger Bang" in 2005.
The website plays a part in the reported new track, though the site suffers hiccups, including error messages and the page failing to load completely.
The "Paint It, Black" hitmakers fueled the speculations more when it retweeted a post by a fan featuring a screenshot of the text on the website that reads: "500 Error. Internal Server Error. Refresh to try again." The Rolling Stones said they were sorry and asked them, "don't be angry with me."
The post followed the band's consecutive announcements that it would share the new album, "Hackney Diamonds," soon. It sparked more talks when it launched a website and mailing list while placing a physical ad in English newspapers.
Per the website, The Rolling Stones will release further details on September 6.
The Rolling Stones' fans have been receiving signs regarding the new song and album since 2022. When Keith Richards spoke to "CBS Sunday Morning," he expressed his excitement to have drummer Steve Jordan onboard as they did something in the studio.
"It'll be interesting to find out the dynamics now that Steve's in the band," he said. "It's sort of metamorphosing into something else."
The Rolling Stones' Hint in Local Newspaper
The Rolling Stones powered up the talks when they published an ad in the Hackney Gazette referencing some of their hit songs.
"Our friendly team promises you satisfaction," it read. "When you say gimme shelter we'll fix your shattered windows."
The same material introduced more clues, including a miniature version of the band's lips logo and the glass repair business established in 1962 - the same year The Rolling Stones was formed.
