Lionel Richie is most notably known for his famous song "Endless Love," a song he sang with another music icon Diana Ross in 1981.

Dubbed the greatest duet of all time by Billboard Richie has been wanting to get Ross to attend his concerts to sing the song again.

Particularly he took a jab on Diana Ross attending Beyonce's Birthday Show in Los Angeles.

"For 37 years, Diana has said 'No,'" Richie revealed onstage. "What made you think tonight she was gon' show up? She ain't comin'! She's over there singing happy birthday to Beyoncé. P*ssing me off."

Obviously, the joke wasn't really a snipe towards Ross or Beyonce, but a funny joke to the two music legends.

As revealed, Richie has been inviting Ross for almost four decades, but to no avail, he's always rejected.

Fans were clearly in stitches while Richie went on with his rant.

"she's over there singing Happy Birthday to Beyoncé Petty Lionel Richie but 37 years is actually crazy," a user posted on Twitter/X.

"It's only been 37 years, keep trying it can't be much longer left lol," another suggested.

Diana Ross Sang Beyonce 'Happy Birthday'

True enough, Beyonce was very grateful when music icon Diana Ross graced the "Renaissance" show last week to sing her happy birthday.

"You sang 'Happy Birthday' to me so I wanted to sing it to you," Ross told Beyonce before asking the stadium to sing her happy birthday.

"Thank you so much, you are so amazing," Beyoncé told the singer onstage. "This is the legendary Diana Ross! There would be no me without you and thank you so much for all of your sacrifice and your beauty and your grace. Thank you for opening doors for me. Thank you so much."
