Ronnie Younkins finally answered KIX fans' question about whether he would join the band's final concert before its disbandment.

In May, Younkins called KIX's final concert and disbandment announcement a "long time coming" since he reportedly expected it since Jimmy Chalfant started experiencing health issues. After a long wait, KIX will meet its fans one last time in Maryland.

Will Ronnie Younkins Perform at KIX's Final Concert?

KIX guitarist confirmed in his interview with "Artists On Record Starring ADIKA Live!" that he would join his bandmates at the band's upcoming final show at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md., on September 17.

"I'm very grateful to have been asked to join the band for some songs, and I'm very excited about it," Younkins said. "What can I say? It's gonna be heartwarming. It's bittersweet; it's gonna be bittersweet."

It will mark Younkins' first and final show with KIX after he sat out of the band's live show over the past three years because of his legal troubles because of his alcoholism, letting Bob Paré fill in for him.

He explained that Paré would play the rest of the set before he joined in on the last four songs.

To prepare for the show, he and his replacement reportedly started practicing the songs and called him "a great guitar player" and "interesting person."

KIX Already Expected Final Show

When KIX announced the details regarding the final show, several band members revealed that the decision was not surprising at all.

Vocalist Steve Whiteman told Meltdown of Detroit's WRIF radio station that they prepared for the last show over a year ago as he told everyone he would be done at the end of 2023.

"I'm sick to death of the travel and the hotels and the waiting in green rooms. It takes three days to do a show anymore because it's all 'fly dates,' one-offs," the singer explained. "So I just to the point where I'm 66 and my wife is ready to retire. And we just wanna enjoy life."

Meanwhile, Younkins revealed to Tulsa Music Stream the signs everyone saw over the past years: from Chalfant's health issues to bandmates' wish to stop traveling.
