Fans were ecstatic when Apple Music and the National Football League announced that Usher will be taking the stage of the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2024.
According to Fox News, the singer will be the official headliner for the Super Bowl LVIII which will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In a statement, the musician expressed his feelings over the big announcement, as he wrote, "It's an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can't wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they've seen from me before."
He later expressed his gratitude to everyone who made the opportunity possible and he couldn't wait to see his fans very soon. (via Variety)
The NFL Head of Music, Seth Dudowsky, issued a statement about the upcoming show, saying Usher is an icon and left a significant mark in pop culture throughout his career.
On the other hand, JAY-Z praised the singer saying he's an ultimate performer and artist as he had been working in the industry for decades.
Usher's upcoming performance would follow 2023's headliner, Rihanna, who performed in front of thousands of fans. It was also the same day when she announced her pregnancy to the world.

Amid the news of the singer's upcoming appearance, fans shared their own thoughts on what songs they wanted to hear on the day of the program as well as special guests that they wanted to see perform along with the musician.
Based on social media posts, most fans wanted to hear classic hits from the singer such as "DJ Got Us Falling in Love Again," "Caught Up," "Yeah," "OMG," and more.
They also wanted to see him play some of his hits that featured other artists like "My Boo," "Love in This Club Part 2," "Lil Freak," "She Came to Give It to You," and more.
