It's been stated that in the lyrics of his most recent album, Ed Sheeran alluded to marital problems with his wife Cherry Seaborn. Are the two okay? Is their marriage on the rocks?

The artist seems to be indicating that his wife "may have called time on their relationship" in one of the songs from his recently released album Autumn Variations, which was published on Friday.

Ed-who just performed on the streets of New York to promote his seventh album-has a song called Punchline that is about a failing romance.

The Sun was able to view the lyrics.

"I can't help it but I love you so. I can't take this letting go. I still feel like we could work it out or something," he sings.

"All I am is only flesh and bone. Why's your heart so freezing cold?"

2019 saw the marriage of Ed, 32, and Cherry, 31, who had been dating since 2015. The couple has two children, Lyra, who is two, and Jupiter, who is fifteen months old.

Ed talked on their "rough road" in another song, emphasizing that it's "not the end of our lives."

He sings: "This is not the end of our lives, this is just a bump in the ride. I know that it'll be alright."

In the song "The Day I Was Born," he sings: "I broke apart from my lover a couple months ago, if they were here then I guess I wouldn't be alone."

Though Ed has previously stated that the album is about both his and his friend's lives, it is unknown which tracks are based on his personal experiences.

"Autumn is here" is written on a cardboard banner that Ed held up while filming in New York City to attract more attention before his debut album, released on his own record label Gingerbread Man, debuted at number one on the charts.

Ed, the UK's 14-time number one hitmaker, has previously discussed his album. The artist remarked in the fall of 2022 that everything either seemed to be quiet and settled or to have collapsed and fallen apart for all of his pals.

He said, "Writing songs helped me understand my feelings and come to terms with what was going on when I went through a difficult time at the beginning of last year." "I wrote songs, some from their perspectives and some from mine, to capture how they and I viewed the world at that time when I learned about my friend's various situations."

A variety of emotions, such as heartbreak, depression, loneliness, and confusion, will be the album's main themes.

Inspired by Elgar's Enigma Variations, which consists of 14 pieces based on 14 pals, Ed wanted to do the same with Aaron Dessner, with whom he collaborated closely on "Subtract."
