Travis Kelce has finally spoken out about his rumored relationship with Taylor Swift after weeks of speculation and the NFL's non-stop coverage of the "Anti-Hero" singer.
The football star reflected on how much attention he and Swift have been receiving since the singer attended one of his games two weeks ago.
"Did you ever think that it would become the thing it became?" asked Trey Wingo during the latest podcast episode of the "Chasin' It With Trey Wingo and Chase Daniel." "Did that ever cross your mind? Did you understand what we were entering?"
"I had no idea, man," Kelce admitted. "I had no idea. You can't tell me that anybody else did either, but I can't be mad at how it's all played out. I'll say that."
On the other hand, while Kelce seemed pretty easy going about the speculations and news coverage surrounding the alleged relationship, he did express his discomfort with the NFL fangirling over the singer a little too much on social media recently.
Travis Kelce On NFL For Taylor Swift Coverage
During his "New Heights" podcast, which he hosts alongside his brother and fellow NFL player Jason Kelce, the Chiefs star had this to say: "They are overdoing it a bit for sure, especially my situation."
However, he also noted that it is all done with good intentions, "they're just trying to have fun with it."
Jason also reflected on how the NFL is handling the sudden influx of Swift's fans flocking over to their accounts and interacting about Kelce and football.
"The NFL is not used to celebrities coming to the games," Jason explained. "Basketball has it figured out ... You show them once, let them know they're there, maybe after a touchdown, but you can't go overboard with it. People are there to watch the game."
Taylor Swift Fans Cringe at NFL
According to reports, the discussion about NFL's coverage on Swift comes several days after the singer's second appearance at a football game to watch Kelce.
Fans found it "strange" and "weird" that the NFL changed their cover photos to Swift as well as their bio to a line from Swift's song, "Best Day."
"We frequently change our bios and profile imagery based on what's happening in and around our games, as well as culturally," the league said in a statement.
"The Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce news has been a pop cultural moment we've leaned into in real-time, as it's an intersection of sport and entertainment, and we've seen an incredible amount of positivity around the sport."
